A senior Accounting student, and Dillon Hall RA, Freddie Stavins enjoys travel in his free time. Having traveled to 48 states in the continental U.S., Freddie looks to the likes of Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard who has been able to mesh a successful business model with corporate social responsibility (CSR) and a generous travel policy for employees. Freddie feels as though Mendoza lends itself well to understanding the greater good of business, leaving students poised for success in industry but also encouraging them to keep an open heart toward charity, environmental responsibility, and the well-being of coworkers.

Sophomores will receive information in September regarding Study Abroad Info Sessions. Unless you have an interest in a very unique location or have multiple major/minor combinations, we ask that you do not request a meeting with an advisor until AFTER you have attended an Info Session. Most, if not all, of your questions will be answered during the session where we will walk you through the application process and the impact of studying abroad for a semester. Beforehand, please review the information on the Study Abroad website to help determine which programs you are most interested in.
Juniors who have been accepted into a program and are looking to have their courses pre-approved prior to departure should follow the directions noted here.
Ryan is a senior IT Management and Statistics major who studied abroad in London during the spring and spent the summer interning for a consulting company in Chicago. A four-year member of Club Soccer, he's serving as the Social Commissioner/Underclassmen Liaison, although that may be a made up position. During an internship last summer with the Washington Wizards, Ryan was tasked with calling agents to confirm their accuracy of their contact information. Seemed simple enough and when he got to Shawn Carter on his spreadsheet, he made the call. It was uncomfortably late in the call that he realized he had Jay Z on the line. He has, however, come a far way since this incident and is attempting every day to learn from his mistakes.
Lisa Heming joined the Undergraduate Business Advising staff in January 2017. But she's not new to Mendoza and has been with Notre Dame since 2006. For the past two years, Lisa served as Director of Student Services for Graduate Business Programs. She's also worked as Academic Programs Director for the ND Alumni Association and as the Assistant Director of Admissions and Student Services for the Executive MBA Program.

A prerequisite is a requirement or prior condition that must be met before taking a course. Only the department offering the course is authorized to override a prerequisite. If you are missing a prerequisite for a business course, see an advisor in 101 Mendoza. Depending on the course, it may be possible to take the prerequisite concurrently with the course in question.
Answer

You will need to work closely with Dr. Gina Shropshire in the Office of Undergraduate Studies if you choose to apply for a full academic year.
Answer
